    instructions for presenters

    Podium presentations

Each podium presentation slot will last for a total of 15 minutes. We recommend that presenters talk for 10-12 minutes, allowing 3-5 minutes for questions. A Windows 10 computer with Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 installed will be available for use in the conference room, along with a widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) projector. Presenters should ideally send their presentations to Carol Arrowsmith (caar@bgs.ac.uk) ahead of the meeting so files can be automatically scanned for viruses (a requirement under BGS policy; maximum 15 MB size). If not, or if the file is larger than 15 MB, then please bring your presentation on a USB device and we will scan files prior to uploading them onto the conference room computer during registration each day. Please note, to ensure a timely switch over between talks, we are unable to accommodate presenters using their own laptops. We recommend that presentations are formatted either as a PDF or PowerPoint .pptx file.

    Poster presentations

Posters should be A1 portrait. Posters can be displayed as soon as you have registered your arrival, and poster boards will remain in place until the close of the meeting on Friday afternoon. Each poster will be allocated to a numbered board, please ensure you place your poster in the correct position. Fixing materials for posters will be provided.
